  While I do have a condition that makes me very apprehensive when it comes to medical procedures, I have generally always liked the dentist because I have never had a bad experience before going to Norton Dental Associates.The hygienists are incredibly nice which definitely compensates for the doctor's disinterest in his patients and his less than helpful front desk staff. I went there for roughly a year because it was the only local provider my insurance covered. The hygienist did a great job of explaining any problems i had with my teeth and really cared about me, but the doctor did not. He came in did a quick exam and spouted off some dentist jargon to the hygienist and left, leaving the hygienist to apologize for his uncomfortable and rude behavior and to translate what the dentist found wrong with my teeth and how they could be fixed. I later scheduled for a filling, the dentist was mad that I preferred Novocaine over laughing gas and continued to push the gas on me even though i told him i get extremely ill from it and would not be comfortable driving after the appointment. He finally caved and i quickly understood why he didn't want to use Novocaine; he's terrible at it! He stuck the syringe in what i'm guessing was the wrong place because i have never felt pain from a Novocaine injection before. It felt like like the medicine was injected into my sinuses because the whole half of my face felt a rush of pain that made my eyes water. That half of my face went numb; however, my tooth being drilled was not. I won't be back and now i'm nervous about trying new providers.
